Enigmatic Realms

This winter Agora Gallery presents Enigmatic Realms, a collective exhibition that offers eight different views of modern society. The featured artists depict wistful childhood memories in the countryside, boldly interrogative portraits with a sense of humor, and jarring interruptions from today's technological takeover. There are missives from the fashion world and blink-and-you'll-miss-it images from a very different kind of action painting. People are the primary subject here: aunts and uncles, peers, colleagues, neighbors, and anyone else who might make their presence felt in daily life, no matter how big or small. Enigmatic Realms is a study of the way we perceive our surroundings, which more often than not is completely different from anyone else.

Kaleidoscope of the Mind

Agora Gallery presents Kaleidoscope of the Mind, a new collective exhibition that showcases the newest ideas in painting technique and visual storytelling. One painter grounds her abstract images in millennia of human mythology and philosophy, while another creates her pieces by suspending herself, and her paint, above the canvas. Several mixed-media participants force their paint to behave differently by introducing both physical and chemical changes. There are birds bigger than people, writing that takes the place of painting, and enormous blue bodies that seem to take up all the space in the world. The innovation on display is sweeping and truly remarkable.
