Divergent Realities

Agora Gallery presents Divergent Realities, a six-artist group exhibition featuring the newest in textured abstraction, hyperrealism, and trompe-l'oeil surrealism. Acrylic, watercolor, and pencil are all represented, with an emphasis on using classic media for new and experimental techniques. The exhibition explores painters who create three-dimensional canvases and draftsmen who work with the polish and precision of an Old Master. The six exhibiting artists are carefully curated to make up a sleek group of viewpoints that do not so much oppose as augment one another; this is a collection of contrasting visions existing in harmony.

Illumination: An Exhibition of Fine Art Photography

Agora Gallery presents Illumination: An Exhibition of Fine Art Photography, which features photographers probing the boundaries of landscape, still life, action, and technique. The exhibition travels from the African Serengeti to the inner petals of a peony. There are massive and almost baffling views of urban sprawl; candid wildlife portraits that seem to defy logic in how they were captured; and images of photo plates that recall the nineteenth-century experiments of the medium's pioneers. In an age of ubiquitous point-and-shoot, instant photography, Illumination represents the best in thoughtful, composed, contemporary work.
