Katie Wild grew up in Connecticut with an intense yearning to understand her cultural background and ancestry. As a student, she appreciated the "melting pot origins" that made up America and took an interest in how immigration affects the country's cultural diversity.
Her portraits are traditionally painted and convey a narrative of diverse people and the political/current events that shape their experiences in America. Through her artwork, Wild strives to create awareness, support, and positivity to immigration, while creating beautiful, alluring paintings. She uses symbolic colors and bold patterns to weave the complex story of each of her subjects.
