Hong Kong artist Catherine Pickop will show her work after competing in The 34th Chelsea International Fine Art Competition Exhibition at Agora Gallery. Living and working in a densely populated area, Pickop’s pieces reflect the geometric shapes of the industrial buildings surrounding her space. Peeling away grim and unpleasant visuals, she transforms the buildings into beautiful spectacles by engaging with patterns of grids and circles.
Having grown up under patriarchal society, Pickop’s art allows her to rebuild a long lost sensitivity. For her, it forms a path leading to peace yet also an appreciation of the beauty of imperfection
