Elisabeth Lopez’s sensory paintings evoke movement and energy which accentuates the process, rather than the end result, of each artwork. Evasion and freedom are the cornerstones of her technique, dynamically drawing in spectators. Underlying stylistic influences of Rococo and Impressionism accent her Surrealist figurative and landscape paintings, offering a distinctive visual plane.
Lopez obtained a BA in Fine Arts from the University of Barcelona as well as a Master’s degree from the Metafora School. She was drawn to the healing properties of art therapy; in particular, its effects on the elderly and children who have suffered from chronic diseases. Since then, she has elevated the visual experiences of her artworks through personal circumstances. Her works are mysterious and continuously transforming, much like the fantastical world of the subconscious is ever-evolving. Now, Lopez’s work oscillates between the figurative and the abstract to facilitate a constant and patient balance.
