Aurélie Beer, a multidisciplinary artist, and global traveler, was born in Belgium, moved to London to study fashion design at Middlesex University. After graduating, she pursued a fashion career in Paris and then Shanghai, China and then moved to Lima, Peru. She trained to become a doula, assisting womenbefore, during, and after childbirth. After, she certified as an expressive art therapist between Peru and Switzerland.
Living in Peru for the part 10 years, Aurélie Beer has managed to channel the diversity of her life experience into a number of mediums, predominantly working with painting, photography and also exploring ceramics and woodwork.
Aurélie Beer’s photography, which alternates between portraiture and digital collage, features women of all kinds, from real-world migrants to phantasmal characters cloaked in paint. She believes that art creates a balanced life, establishing relationships and fostering community.
“I’ve been traveling the world as an artist for the last fifteen years, searching for other ways of learning and living life,” Aurélie Beer says. “I searched for freedom and to nurtured my heart.”
