Reception: Thursday, July 14, 2016 6-8 PM

The figurative work of New York artist Dino Rinaldi is as stunning in its simplicity as it is compelling in its level of detail. Working in a variety of media, Rinaldi captures the beauty of his subjects in the minutia of visual details and the broad, overall atmosphere of each piece. His drawings are rendered so flawlessly that they might be mistaken for photographs, and his oil still lifes and figurative paintings are masterful in visual interpretation while they depict a profound feeling and tone.

A hallmark of Rinaldi’s work lies in his unfailing ability to find something beautiful in those everyday things that most people would overlook. As he explains, “The beauty of a cracked egg, chipped paint, or a doorknob can turn the most overlooked objects into the most interesting.” His work reminds the viewer of the unexpected just waiting to be discovered: that there is beauty in every moment and in every corner of this wondrous world we live in.

Dino Rinaldi currently lives and works in Setauket on Long Island, New York.
