Attila Mata is a Hungarian-born sculptor of many mediums and design ideas. Throughout his career he has experimented with various materials, redefining what it means to be a sculptor in the world of modern contemporary art. After his studies at the Hungarian Academy of Fine Arts, Attila set out to create sculptures that would evolve with the changing times. He began his work using wood and has since used bronze, aluminum, stainless steel and acrylic resin for his designs. Through these changing mediums he aims to express happiness for the constant changes that life brings. His lively sculptures are powerful and evoke thought and processing from those who view them. Each piece is meant to leave an impact on the viewer, as he believes that innovative artforms elicit a genuine opinion from the viewer.
As an artist, Atilla is inspired by ancient themes such as sexuality, death and gods, as well as books and other artists’ works he has observed. He takes these varying sources and infuses their feeling into each of his works, ultimately extending the limits of art and sculpture.
