Yotta

Yotta is an Athens-based abstract painter whose artistic influences come from the fields of fine art, music, and dance. Yotta’s background in ballet and choreography informs the fluid movement and elegant balancing of lines, shapes, and colors in her paintings. She is an intuitive and instinctual painter, guided by feeling rather than rigid, regulated forms of expression.

Paintings like “Little Santorini” and “Man and Woman in Thoughts” demonstrate Yotta’s interest in the Modernist tradition, in particular, in Cubism and especially Picasso. But there is also a distinctly contemporary edge to her work, and a lyricism and sensitivity that are entirely her own.
