Self taught artist Nena Cirkovic’s paintings are a reflection of her inner self, her feelings and her emotions. She employs a vivid color palette and focuses on structure, movements and harmony to define her abstract expressionist pieces. Inspired by the German and international expressionism, she uses a palette knife to apply gestural marks and lines intuitively and with varying intensities. Her textured, colorful pieces are influenced by Jungian psychology, and the artist's interest in human nature. Through her work, she seeks to convey the complexity of the human emotions in a unique moment of expression.
The artist holds a Ph.D. in European Cultural History from the University of Belgrade.
