Michael Ocepek, a retired Fighter Pilot from the U.S. Air Force, received his Bachelor’s Degree from Ohio State University after which he went into Global Logistics. He now aims to focus more of his time on creating art that takes viewers beyond the visual plane and have his pieces transcend into pulsating, tangible entities of their own. Ocepek draws inspiration from Impressionist themes, such as vivid and defined brushstrokes as well as light and color with the Industrial use of impasto and dramatic composition. He then attempts to alter these themes in such a way which prompts viewers to question the unwritten rules of art.
Through complex layers of color, Ocepek’s work aims to cross the boundaries of our global community to bring his viewers to closer observation and engagement with the beauty of art. Through his creation of art pieces, Michael Ocepek strives to bring joy to others in calming visions of the present as well as a hope for the future by inspiring individuals to make a difference.
