The career of German artist Martina Sinner began at square one. Sinner had always felt a pull in the creative direction in the form of an attraction towards art she could never truly shake. This pull became realized in 2015 when she decided to experiment with paint and color. From that moment on, Sinner plunged herself into a period of artistic experimentation, trying out as many techniques as she could in order to bring her fullest self to each painting. Oftentimes a novel idea will pop into her head, and she won’t be able to get anything else done until she finds a way to implement it. Even in the middle of the night, if Sinner has an artistic impulse, she follows it.
The result is her bold, colorful paintings. Sinner’s innate artistic instinct gives her a pure love and passion for her craft. Her process is driven by impulse, and thus she aims to convey the idea of living according to one’s own standards. Her philosophy is live and let live, and each bright canvas expresses a blend of freedom, life, joy, and childlike wonder. Sinner’s practice grows with each artwork, as she continues to find inspiration in the people around her, nature, love, and in herself. The most important thing she aims to transmit to her viewer is wellbeing; it is a personal, subjective wellbeing that is dictated by each person’s emotion upon viewing any one of Sinner’s paintings.
