Vibrant, earthy strokes of color dance and bleed into each other while symbols of nature take up frame in artist Danijela Kostic’s paintings. Each piece appears alive and raw as they illustrate these settings and the entrancing animals that inhabit them. While raised on a farm by her grandparents in Serbia, Kostic interacted with various dogs, cats, cows, and even eagles–a favorite of hers that represents freedom. Kostic feels a deep connection to these elements and commonly sources them for artistic inspiration in the work she creates today. Now residing in Sweden, she commonly paints landscapes, wilderness, and expressions of joy and happiness. Kostic’s main medium is acrylic on canvas and firmly believes in painting only when she’s in a positive mood, as she does not want any negative emotions to come through.
Kostic has previously exhibited three times at Artportable Gallery in Stockholm, Sweden and once in Eskilstuna, Sweden. She works as a team leader and enjoys exploring the forest and looking for mushrooms. By visiting various art galleries, taking multiple art courses, and practicing everyday, she has felt increasingly confident in her work and its improvements.
