Gianluca Pollini is an Italian artist based in Bologna. He began his career as a nature photographer and reporter, which landed his work in several prominent magazines and books. His award-winning fine art photographs incorporate architectural studies and sweeping natural and urban views. Pollini focuses on the natural and urban environment in Italy, but he has worked all over Europe. His meticulously captured high-resolution images feature astonishing levels of detail. He works with Hasselblad cameras in analogue and Nikon in digital. He prints each work in series of 7-10 editions on high quality cotton paper.
His work is concerned with the relationship between the physical and metaphysical. In his explorations of Italian Rationalist architecture, he highlights the contrast between colors and lines and their interplay with geometric elements. Pollini is a well established photographer and has been published and exhibited worldwide for over 30 years. He has also published a book entitled “Fiori."
