Aleksandr Romanov is a Russian photographer and geologist who has been working between the city of Tyumen and the Yamal-Nenets district for the past 25 years. Romanov has been researching the peoples of the northern arctic regions of Russia, and how they survive harsh climactic conditions. He has been creating a series that focuses on children of the Arctic regions, which are as stunning as they are important to the narrative history of 21 st century human history. Romanov beautifully captures the spirit of these oft forgotten people and their culture.
