Nemo Nox’s photographs are the upshot of wandering through cities with the intention of producing images of metropolitan life. As New Orleans, known for its distinct architecture, is one of his favorite places, Nox has taken a series that captures some of the city’s most noteworthy facades.
Nox’s photo of a Creole townhouse, with its cast-iron balcony filled with vegetable life, is processed to highlight the juxtapositions of color that come so naturally to such a scene. Sublte manipulations of tone and texture act as an invitation to explore the stories, real or imagined, behind each façade he photographs.
