Karen McQuaid is Senior Curator at The Photographers’ Gallery, London and has been a curator there since 2009. Previous to this post, she worked on the talks and events programme at the gallery. Karen is also a regular contributor to international arts publications as well as a guest lecturer and active facilitator of artist projects.
She has curated exhibitions at The Moscow House of Photography and the National Gallery of Kosovo. Curated exhibitions include: 'Jim Goldberg, Open See', 'Fiona Tan, Vox Populi London', 'Claire Aho, Studio Works', 'Andy Warhol, Photographs: 1976 - 1987'.
Ave Pildas is a successful photographer and educator with a career spanning 50 years. As the former Art Director at Capital Records in Hollywood, he photographed album covers. It was this work that inspired him to launch a career as a freelance photographer and designer. He has exhibited his work throughout the USA and beyond as well as being featured in: The New York Times Magazine, 'ZOOM', 'PHOTO', 'CAMERA', 'photographic' and many publications both in the United States and abroad.
Photographs by Ave Pildas are included in the collections of LACMA (Los Angeles County Museum of Art), the Museum of Modern Art, New York, New York Public Library, NY, the Bibliotheca National, Paris; the University of Arizona as well as numerous other public and private collections. He is a Professor Emeritus at Otis College of Design.
