Yotta

Athens-based multidimensional artist Yotta creates work influenced by various artistic fields, including fine art, music, and dancing. Her creative approach is heavily shaped by her foundation in ballet, reflected by her emphasis on balance and harmony within her compositions. Her oeuvre consists primarily of dynamic abstract paintings featuring bold colors and heavy contours. Some of her works are anthropomorphic, while others hint towards references of nature, architecture, and/or themes of contemporary life. She is also interested in modernist tradition—particularly the work of Pablo Picasso—but her
intuitive process is guided by feeling rather than strict adherence.

Yotta regards her work as a visual counterpart to her identity but maintains a post- structuralist view of interpretation. Ideally though, her paintings convey personal concepts and emotions, their lyricism and sensitivity aiming to incite viewers’ own responses and readings. Essentially, she would like her audience to understand her art through their own individual perceptions and experiences. For Yotta, her primary objective is to “touch people’s souls and express their inner thoughts and feelings, through my work.”
