Tel Aviv-based Russian artist Taia Bene is a painter, mixed media and graphic artist. In Bene’s work harmonious stylized compositions emerge out the play of light and shadow and inventive use of color. Passionate for detail and experimental in her approach, Bene uses stencils, prints, blots, monotypes, fills, a mixture of decorative and elaborate elements and watercolor effects to create rich textures, interesting colors and unexpected compositions. Bene believes that art reflects the personality, ideas and emotions of the creator. Her artwork is a way to open minds, introduce the viewers to the incredible world of color, and to provide the opportunity to see the mystery concealed in the world around us. She takes her inspiration from the miraculous world of nature.
Bene studied textile design at the Moscow State Textile University. Over time, she changed specializations and fully devoted herself to painting and the graphic arts.
