None of the paintings of Simone Schwarz have a name: each viewer sees something completely different than the next, and Schwarz embraces this. Her first exhibition was held in a cafe in her native Germany in 2018. Since then, Schwarz has transformed what was initially a special passion into a full-time career. Her success on this path can be seen in the fact that all her paintings from this exhibition sold in seven days even though the exhibition was meant to last eight weeks. Becoming a full-time painter is the natural climax of Schwarz’s lifelong love for drawing and painting.
Schwarz’s work is mainly guided by her visceral feelings and intuitive bodily motions. In her past, Schwarz has also written songs, and her interest in music is indisputably present in her rhythmic paintings. It is easy to get lost in the flow of Schwarz’s serpentine lines or manipulated textures. No new painting of hers is like the last, making each a unique reflection of her inspiration and emotion. She identifies most with contemporary abstract painting, and belongs to a local artists’ network in her hometown in Germany. Schwarz also taught herself her techniques, working in a deeply personal milieu that allows her to experiment with a multitude of techniques and styles. Overall, Schwarz aims to convey positive energy through her paintings – allowing viewers to immerse themselves deeply and release all negativity.
