Roberto Tores Pare Mouamfon is a Cameroonian artist who studied at the Institute of Fine Art in Foumban where he specialized in drawing and painting. After working with a variety of mediums, including acrylic and colored pencils, Mouamfon has extended his artistic reach to conduct a plastic reflection on humans and their conditions. Themes in his work often include the notion of personality and individuality in our advanced societies.
Roberto’s works invite viewers to confront who they are, adapt the lens through which they identify themselves, and ultimately reinvents themselves amidst a world of contemporary constraints. Through the use of color, Mouamfon recontextualizes traditional portraiture taken from classical art.Whether it is social classifications, economic revolutions, identity crises, or changes in the status of a person, Mouamfon utilizes culture as a whole to formulate his pieces.
