Rejane Dal Bello is an award-winning graphic designer with a varied body of work that combines strong colors and an inventive approach to composition to create clear, powerful visual communication strategies. Those strengths are also readily apparent in her artworks. In her “EarthArt” series, Dal Bello uses the tools of high technology to bring the earth we live on into clear focus, while also giving the viewer a new and different perspective on it.
The artist makes images inspired by the Google Earth program. In those images, Dal Bello says, “it seems like the earth is an abstract form, ready for you to interpret.” She capitalizes on those abstract qualities in her graphically striking giclée prints, balancing grids of precise lines with flowing organic forms. That mixture of forms also applies to her color choices, in which earth tones are juxtaposed with intense, bright hues. The result is an energizing mix of rhythms and textures that brings the earth’s beauty alive in a unique way. Dal Bello, who was born in Rio de Janeiro, lives and works in London.
