“My photographic art lies in the existential vacuum,” Mario Daniel Quiroga’s says, and in his photographs, light is effectively used to bring that vacuum to vivid life. From dark images in which the subject is seen in soft, almost abstract outlines to sun-filled landscapes that explore a wide range of textures, Quiroga gives each picture a compelling presence.
As adept at capturing movement as at showing the contours of rocks and mountains, he makes each photograph both a document of the world he sees and a record of his thoughts.
