Marilyn Miller is an American-born Swedish painter who has been trained in Vedic art. Having always been a creative person, Miller, who is also a teacher at a school for students with special needs, first felt the overwhelming desire to begin painting a little more than a decade ago. She does not draw inspiration for her work from any particular person or movement; rather, her paintings are informed by nature: from the mountains to the oceanside and everything in between.

Miller, who paints to relieve herself of the constant pressure to perform well in other aspects of life, prefers to experiment with acrylic colors and various textures in her art. She strives to produce heartfelt work that is abstract and open to interpretation (even if there is some semblance of a clear object depicted in the piece), allowing others to bring their personal perspectives to her paintings and connect them to their own lives. Miller provides her consumers with this freedom to let her work evoke whatever emotion they need it to.
