For her whole life, Kate Robinson has gotten lost in her art. Her passion for the subject began at a young age and only grew over the years as she kept creating. When Robinson was in high school, she was inducted into the National Art Honor Society; at this time, she enjoyed mostly creating charcoal sketches of still pieces or models. When she began her career as a school teacher and later shifted into healthcare sales, artmaking still served as her creative outlet. She never forgot her deeply ingrained love for it after all those years.
Now, Kate paints in an abstract, self-taught style, mainly utilizing acrylic, oil, or mixed media on canvas or panel. She finds joy in building up the layers of her pieces, which eventually result in tapestries of rich color and texture. Stare at one of her paintings and you become enveloped in the creases and chunks of its paint. Her whirls of color and fragments of form allow each viewer to feel something different within each painting, so that no reaction to her work will be like the last. Passionate about interior decoration, Kate’s ultimate goal is to deliver pieces that harmonize a client’s environment, as the final connecting elements that bring the whole space together. Her work has been seen on HGTV and in various art exhibitions across North Carolina–where she currently resides–and beyond. She ultimately strives to share hope, joy and growth through her art by inspiring similar emotions within her viewers.
