Honduran artist Julio Solorzano began painting upon an inspiration to create a heartfelt artwork for his fiancee. His fiancee encouraged him to continue painting, sensing his talent, and Solorzano became a full-time painter. Now, Solorzano works in abstract and figurative styles, focusing on nature and portraiture. His works recall the beauty of the tropical landscapes of his native Honduras, in addition to commenting on the impact of various cultural figures. Solorzano strives for elegance and harmony in his paintings, achieving this by incorporating materials like sticks, linen, and spray paint in addition to his more traditional mediums of acrylic and oil paintings on canvas. Solorzano admires Expressionism and Impressionism, capturing each style’s emphasis on emotion expressed through brushstrokes.
Solorzano remains on the cutting-edge of the art world, making appearances in magazines and on television. He is also a member of NFT Catracho, a Honduran artistic group that creates NFT art from Honduran artists. His work has been showcased at Art Expos in Spain and Milan; he was mentioned as “Artist of the Week” by Las Mañanas del 5, a program on Televicentro, a Honduran television channel, due to the latter exhibition. Crucially, Solorzano understands the value of artistic education for young children, donating art materials to economically disadvantaged children in La Paz. His colorful, richly textured canvases combine his wealth of inspirations and life experiences to make the perfect addition to any collection.
