Jeannette Dannehl’s abstract compositions are an ode to femininity and romance. Muted tones convey a soft elegance to her compositions, brightened up by joyful explosions of pinks and luxuriant gold. The rich lusciousness of Dannehl’s work enlivens our senses. Creamy taupes and beiges exhale the aroma of Iberian cafes, while scoops of strawberry-tinted paint are guilt-free pleasures on a sunny Tuscan afternoon. We can smell the flowers in a Provence lavender field, sip the rosé as we stroll by the Seine, or watch the ocean waves hit the sand in the middle of a storm. Flowing to the rhythm of music, art is Dannehl’s own playfield, a space of freedom and adventurous exploration.
Based near Bremen, Germany, Dannehl developed her style as an autodidact. After keeping her work secret for many years, she revealed her passion and soon began to sell her paintings. For Dannehl, the viewer is a co-creator in her artistic process, taking part in her lighthearted journey through life.
