Helena Zyryanova is an experienced visual artists and painter originally from Evpatoria, Crimes USSR. She studied painting as a student, but her skills and knowledge were most honed through her travels. In the early 2000’s, Zyryanova moved to Portugal and was inspired by her surroundings. Although she was most well versed in portraits she began painting landscapes. Today, Zyryanova’s work combines her love of portrait painting with the beauty of nature and each piece has an underlying philosophical meaning. She is most interested in the true meanings of life, the paths we follow and create, and her view of the world and the people in it.
Trained as a classical painter, Zyryanova strives to make her art different. She accomplishes this by constantly experimenting, learning and never giving up on applying new techniques. In many of her paintings, Zyryanova uses different materials such as charcoal, colored pencils, brushes varying in size and even spatulas; by combining these materials and techniques she produces paintings that feel familiar and intriguing to all who view them.
