Art has always been present in Flavia Centrone’s life. Born in Brazil, her childhood was spent drawing, sometimes on leaves when there wasn’t any paper near and then advancing when she began to paint with acrylic on canvas. It wasn’t until Centrone discovered digital art that she found the medium that completes her and compliments her expression of the self.
For inspiration, Centrone draws from wherever is offering, often utilizing memories, emotions, and even voids. Colors can illuminate the voids. And color is palpable in her art. Working mostly in abstract expressionism, abstract informal and figurative, her pieces often show the mysterious, fragile, strong, and independent sides of women, as well as the beauty, vibrancy, and diversity of world cultures.
