Elisabeth Lopez’s sensory paintings evoke movement and energies which accentuates the process, rather than the end result of each artwork. Evasion and freedom are the cornerstones of her technique, dynamically drawing in spectators. Underlying notes of Baroque, Rococo, Neoclassicism and Impressionism have traversed onto her landscapes from early childhood to produce a distinctive visual plane.
Upon graduation from the University of Barcelona with a Fine Arts degree, as well as a Master’s degree from the Metafora School, Lopez was drawn to the healing properties of art therapy, in particular its effects on the elderly and children who have suffered from chronic diseases. Since then, she has elevated the visual experiences of her artworks through personal circumstances. Elizabeth’s mysterious and surrealist impressions are continuously transforming, much like the fantastical world of the subconscious is ever-evolving. Now, Lopez’s work oscillates between the figurative and the abstract to facilitate a constant and patient balance.
