Blanca Severo is a trained painter hailing from Uruguay. Her love for art has been life long and, as a child she was fascinated by the many illustrations she saw in art books and magazines. At the age of 5 she began drawing and by age 13 Blanca Servo joined a workshop where she learned classic techniques in drawing and painting. As a student she studied art books to master her skill and she continues to study as her career grows.
Though Blanca is classically trained, her technique involves working with oils on canvas, cardboard and paper. She begins her process by drawing directly on the canvas first before painting and her artwork borders the line of figurative realism and something of an abstraction. Each painting is an interpretation of the small wonders of beauty Blanca sees day to day, and she most inspired by nature and harmony. Today Blanca paints under the artist name I'm Severo and despite many of the obstacles she has faced as an artist in Uruguay she feels great satisfaction and fulfillment through her artwork.
