Andrew Knox

Digital artist Andrew Knox looks upon his work as an eclectic mash up of the visual world he inhabits. Distinctive and derivative, Knox straddles the digital and traditional forms of expression. He is influenced by a variety of visual experiences; the diversity of graffiti, design, Pop Art, and multidisciplinary works have all profoundly influenced his thoughts on the power of making ones mark.

In recent years Knox has begun to merge his interest in photography, urban imagery and iconography to create immediate responses to his environment. His creativity is as diverse as the processes he utilizes, each work the unique embodiment of his moment-by-moment conceptions. Be it cropping a photo or filtering and editing apps or merging traditional drawings, and adding options to distort or curve, he creates harmonies and special arrangements within juxtaposed forms. Knox observes, “At the end of a process of making a work, whether it be digital, or acrylic, the end result is in making something ‘timeless’ through means that are anything but.”
