The Chelsea International Fine Art Competition
August 11 – August 23, 2016
Reception: Thursday, August 11, 2016 6-8 PM

Raised on Grand Island, New York, Adam Horrigan studied sculpture at Buffalo State College before receiving a Post Baccalaureate and an MFA in Visual Communication Design from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Above all, Horrigan is interested in capturing what he calls “the mark” of the laborer: the blue-collar artwork “hidden beneath floorboards, finishing nails, and coats of paint.” Creating fine art that glorifies spread mortar and other trade techniques, he reminds his viewers of the dignity of hard work.

Adam Horrigan lives and works in Chicago, Illinois.
