The Chelsea International Photography Competition 2017, an event organized by Agora Gallery as a twin competition to the annual Chelsea Fine Art Competition, was born out of desire to continue bringing fresh artistic talent to Chelsea. For photographers, amateur and professionals alike, it’s a great new opportunity to expose their art at the center of the contemporary art world – New York.
The competition is divided into two categories – Amateur Photography and Professional Photography – and is open to photographers from all over the world, at any stage in their career. Artists may submit images that investigate any topic, from regional cultures and travel photography to commercial work and photojournalism.
Competition opens July 18th and will accept entries through September 13th, 2017.
Below is a selection of winning photographs from the Chelsea International Fine Arts Competition (Photography Category) from previous years.
The Chelsea International Photography Competition is an excellent opportunity for photographers and an exciting event for art enthusiasts. Submissions will be reviewed by an expert panel of jurors with diverse backgrounds. The very first edition of Chelsea International Photography Competition is judged by the Director for the Museum of Contemporary Photography (Chicago), a renowned Swiss photographer, and a Washington-based independent critic and curator.
“Participating in art competitions, in particular, the Chelsea International Fine Art one has indeed benefited me very much. I started receiving wider exposure than before, and more and more galleries were emailing me wondering whether I might be interested in a representation with them, having come across my name and works through Agora Gallery.”
