Pelican Oil on Canvas 30" x 20"

Pamela Sullivan's artistic career began in Dublin, Ireland, where she displayed her work on the walls of a boutique hair salon she and her sister owned, Aviary Lane. It wasn’t long before Aviary Lane became an actual aviary, of sorts. As Sullivan's work gained attention and interest, she decided to give up her half of the boutique in pursuance of art; her portrayal of birds inspired by the multitude of colorful personalities she convenes with on a daily. Today, she is a full-time artist living in North Dublin, where she’s regularly inspired during her routine strolls along the feral coastline.

For Sullivan, each painting is a story. Those stories are told in mixed medias that correlate with her mood and vision; employing a vivid color palette with multiple textural combinations, Sullivan provides depth and movement to her pieces by utilizing exposed areas of raw canvas, working with negative space, and heavy color applications with the palette knife.
