Take a virtual tour of the August 01, 2018 exhibition at Agora Gallery

In response to the spread of COVID-19 and to ensure the health and safety of the Gallery's staff and public, Agora Gallery will be temporarily closed beginning March 14th. We join many cultural institutions across New York City and the country who are also closing to help limit the further spread of the virus.

We will continue to monitor the situation and re-evaluate early next week. Please check back here and on our social media channels for updates. We look forward to welcoming our staff and visitors back to the Gallery soon.

Agora Gallery is pleased to present Made in Chelsea, a Group of 10 – West Chelsea Artists, an exhibition curated by local artist Scotto Mycklebust.

Featuring 60 works by Savanna Barrett, Julie Harman Dovan, Rodney Durso, Allen Furbeck, Heidi Martin Kuster, Iris Levinson, Xanda McCagg, Catherine Mosley, Scotto Mycklebust and Sophie Staerk, the exhibition will be on view for one week, from August 1 - 7, 2018. An opening reception will be held on Thursday, August 2nd, from 6 to 8 pm.

Made in Chelsea comprises traditional paintings on canvas, photo-based Sterographic-Twist photography, digital painting and collage. Also included is an interactive web-based multi-media work.
What is commonly shared by this group of West Chelsea artists is intense inspiration by their vibrant surroundings: their studios are creative sanctuaries nestled above the multitude of contemporary galleries that operate in their very neighborhood, along with the renowned High Line that also draws visitors from the world over. This exhibition is an opportunity to view, support and purchase artworks made right in Chelsea by West Chelsea artists.

We hope you will join us for the reception on August 2nd from 6-8 p.m.!

Pomp & Whimsy, a beverage company that brings modern sensibilities to the tradition of gin making, is a sponsor of the opening reception. Come enjoy a refreshing pour over ice at the show.
Agora Gallery was established by the late Miki Stiles, MFA, to provide opportunities to artists entering the global art market. Located in the heart of the famous Chelsea art district, the gallery occupies the ground floor of 530 West 25th Street.
