Gabriella Mirabelli creates art to find peace and serenity in herself. “My paintings are a map to help people find that pocket of space. A serene analog detour from our noisy frantic digital world,” she says. Well-versed in that hectic world owing to also being EVP Consumer Insights and Brand Strategy for Valence Media, a media holding company comprised of Billboard Magazine, The Hollywood Reporter, Dick Clark Productions and MRC films & TV, Mirabelli admits, “Painting lets me connect with myself – just me. My core being, not the mom, or the businessperson or even the artist, but just myself without thought to anyone external,” she explains.
Mirabelli finds the man-made world square and tight, with lines that box us up and move us around, so through her art she shares the natural world of light and earth. “When I see the world, my mind simplifies natural forms into abstract compositions. I enjoy the curves of nature, the circle of the sun, the straight line of the horizon,” says the artist. She traverses the art world of landscape impressionist and abstract realism. From crashing ocean waves and calm lake waters to sleepy sunrises and the changing seasons, Mirabelli’s work brings landscapes alive with muted yet stunning color and sinuous lines.
