Madhuri Bhaduri is an interdisciplinary and multi-media contemporary artist with a critically acclaimed seminal body of work. Her multi-layered artscapes feature a fine blend of abstraction, landscape and impressionist renderings in varied media and manifestations. Her intention is to assimilate the celestial with the mundane, which she achieves through multicolor visual effects, expansive murals, and almost lyrical brushwork. The aesthetics of her work engage beauty, vitality and sensuality, and her oeuvre takes the viewer beyond the tangible and obvious. She allows emotions to dominate the discourse on the canvas, while the subject matter remains ambiguous. Madhuri’s emphasis on emotionality offers the viewer a transcendental and deeply meditative experience, beyond the tangible and physical world.
Madhuri’s remarkable work has been honoured with over a dozen awards and recognitions. Felicitated with the Times of India Femina Pune art award in for 2019-20, the Amrita Shergill Rashtriya Kala Puraskar in 2018 by the National Institute of Fine Arts (NIFA) New Delhi and preceded by the Exceptional Woman of Excellence in Art Award from the Women’s Economic Forum (WEF) at The Hague, Netherlands and Bharat Nirman Foundation’s entrepreneur of the year award also in 2018, Savvy Magna Publication’s Achievers’ Award in art 2016 and Best Designer CEAD award in 1988, are some of the accolades received by her among many others.
