Italian photographer Federico Imperiale explores the boundaries between the real and the unreal. Currently based in Los Angeles, Imperiale photographs both every day and composed scenes. He states that he is driven as a photographer to capture the ambiguity of reality. To accomplish this, he manipulates his photographs to play with the viewer's perception of a scene and to disrupt their understanding of what is real.
Imperiale uses a variety of photographic techniques to convey ideas and feelings through his work aesthetically. His photographs invite the viewer to take a more in-depth look to see beyond their first-impression of an image.
Imperiale's work will be on digital display at Agora Gallery August 10 - 20, 2019.
