Candelaria Palacios’ works are an admixture of technique and the operations of chance. Using her skill as a kind of net with which to ensnare natural processes she views her works as being about nothing less than universal processes and their movement toward consummate realization. The ink on paper work Aire (Air) continues Palacios’s interest in people, animals, plants, light, sounds, and their combined synthesis within the borders of a picture. Although leaves are depicted, one also senses the movement of wind, even the breath of inspiration, that shapes pattern of leaves in this work.
