Born in Bogotá, Colombia, Leonardo LEMORÉ has dedicated his craft to the national landscape, capturing transcendent vistas in rich hues. Painting with oils, LEMORÉ adds texture with every stroke, building layer upon layer until the message shines through. “I don’t paint landscapes,” LEMORÉ says, describing the lines, instead, as pieces of a large emotional puzzle chronicling his thoughts and feelings. They do not function as a geographical reference, he says; rather, they provide access to a personal journey he wishes to share with each viewer.
LEMORÉ has exhibited in Colombia, Venezuela, Spain, and the United States, serving as an ambassador of love, hope, and peace. He hopes that his work will serve as a catalyst of the spirit, an introduction to examine what is within. Yet, his chromatic skies and rolling hills are a tribute to the external world as well. With titles that evoke song, brave earth, murmurs, and sighs, LEMORÉ's work compels his viewers with the best of language, both visual and written. Most of all, he compels them with spirit.
Leonardo LEMORÉ lives and works in Colombia.
