| Matthew’s Galleries was opened by its current owner and director, Matthew W. Gerber, thirty-six years ago in the New Jersey suburbs of New York City. The gallery’s specialty has always been quality American paintings of the 19th and 20th centuries, with some European selections. In 1987 Mr. Gerber moved his family and the business three thousand miles across the country to Lake Oswego, Oregon, just outside of Portland. The gallery now emphasizes paintings by Oregon Regionalists of the same period, and offers the largest and finest selection of such work in the Northwest. |
