Anne C. Sutton

|
Anne's watercolours have a bold style and she uses vibrant colours to capture the beauty and essence of her subjects. In her landscapes in particular, colour and technique combine to capture moody weather conditions and evoke a sense of place.

Welcome To Alan Oliver's Site

I have been painting professionally for twenty five years. I have held a one-man show every year and have completed many commissions, often of houses or particular places.
I have exhibited with many of the London Societies including the Royal Institute of Watercolour Painters, The Royal Watercolour Society, The Pastel Society, the Royal Britsh Artists, The Royal Oil Institute and once at the Royal Academy.
I am currently President of the Leicestershire Pastel Society.
I have had five books published,
'A Sketchbook of English Landscape'
'A Sketchbook of Rutland'
'Watercolour- Planning and Painting'
'Alan Oliver's Sketchbook'
'Rutland - Landscapes and Legends'
The main reason I paint is to just try to record and understand something of the beauty I see around me.
When I was small boy, I discovered drawing was a wonderful way of finding out about things, so I have continued to do that all my life. It is my way of trying to understand this complex and beautiful world we inhabit. I also greatly enjoy trying to solve the problems involved in the painting process.

Art By Vela
...
|
|
Beginning in watercolor some 37 years ago, I started on a journey that I enjoy on a daily basis. I work out of my home studio in San Antonio, Texas. I include all media in my "things to work with" that help me tell my story. I strive to make my work intensify seeing to create an increased awareness of our common being in time.
Painting what one's perceptions are is the sharing of one's most private thoughts and ideas with the viewer. I strive to put these inner thoughts and impressions on the surface of my work, be it paper or canvas. My love of color and texture spur me on to set down what I would like to convey to others through my art. Collage, acrylic on canvas, mixed media, transparency of watercolor, all media methods excite me..
There is nothing more wonderful than viewing a piece of art that speaks to your soul and I hope that my art does that for you.
