The 24th Chelsea International Fine Art Competition

The 2009 competition is Agora Gallery’s twenty-fourth annual juried international fine art contest. Agora gallery has been involved in sponsoring such art events since it opened in 1984. The Agora Gallery is a contemporary Fine Art Gallery dedicated to the promotion of US and international artists, providing quality and original art to avid collectors and art dealers. “Carving a space for new talent is very much at the core of our business,” says Agora Gallery Director Angela Di Bello, who has vast experience on the New York art circuit. Agora Gallery is located in Chelsea New York, the hub of the international art scene.

The Chelsea International Fine Art Competition is a renowned modern art contest that has been juried by prominent museum curators and experts. This international contemporary art event features awards, visibility, exposure to the New York art market and participation in a vibrant group show.

Agora Gallery offers the artists selected by the juror an introduction to the exciting New York art scene as well as dynamic online Internet promotion. Not only will selected artists gain exposure by exhibiting their work in the famed Chelsea art gallery district, the fine art competition will be juried by an influential voice in the New York art world; the 2009 competition will be juried by Mr. Ira Goldberg, Executive Director, The Art Students League of New York.

In the spirit of an ongoing commitment to “giving back to the community we live and work in”, Agora Gallery will be donating 25% of its proceeds from the sale of artwork from the art competition exhibition to the non-profit organization Art Start. The Twenty-Fourth Chelsea International Fine Art Competition is open to all visual artists 18 years of age and older working in any media including digital fine art photography, with the exception of video art, film and performance art, jewelry and crafts.
