Deconstructing Reality

Press Release

Monica Baesu's childlike artwork operates as a porthole into her imagination. Her muted colors and mix of random images create a gathering of surrealism and the unconscious. The intangible quality emphasizes the playfulness of her work. Her initial inspiration came from the recognition of a kindred spirit looking at life and how it connects to humankind. Even though her work speaks loudly of the abstract, she doesn’t exclude the human origins. Her style resonates amongst collages and the various use of mediums, supporting her exploration of art. She uses acrylic, oil, glass, paste, media on wood, ink, paper and canvas, only to mention a few. She is not bound by one artistic medium.

Monica Baesu's adventurous choices are not only seen through her imagery but are also apparent in her choice of tools. It is her way of communicating in a world filled with complication and diverse personalities.
