Press Release
In his mixed media works, Michael Misha Kennedy combines the stylistic accomplishment of Impressionism with modern subject matter and technique. His series on Martinis, for example, reflects his love of urban environment and its lively modern nightlife. At the same time, by presenting many variants of Martini glasses, Kennedy pays tribute to an Impressionist obsession by capturing the same object at different light conditions. Kennedy creates many of his works on multi-dimensional surfaces, which adds a sculptural appeal to his works. His paintings are saturated with color, each emphasizing a specific chromatic scheme. Kennedy studied at University of Oregon specializing in fine art, commercial installation and design. The influence of design is very evident in Kennedy's bright, eye-catching canvases, where geometric patterns and additional surfaces make these paintings into decorative objects. Kennedy lives and works in Sacramento. His works have been exhibited throughout the United States.
