Whether photographing a magnificent panorama of laden clouds over a dusty desert landscape or the striking ironwork of an ageing bridge, Heidi Fickinger has the distinct ability to freeze the moment and grant her audience a state of thoughtful repose. The style of her photography is clean and sharp, allowing the subject to reveal itself and create a dialogue directly with the viewer. Fickinger studied fine arts, illustration, and photography at Utah State University, but chose to focus on photography, as it had the ability to express her personal vision to others. She describes her aim as, “to verbalize my perception of both the traditional view of nature as well as the man-made beauty that is encountered every day but largely ignored.” Fickinger has exhibited her work ambitiously around the United States and continues to receive attention in the world of photography. Heidi Fickinger lives and works in La Mesa, California. The photography is a limited series of prints.
