Flora is an artist in the visionary mode, crafting wonderfully inventive and enchanting works. Her paintings give the impression of exploding with boundless energy. Seemingly complete abstraction gives way to our sense of order as surrealist scenes unfold before our very eyes. Animals, figures, and plants within tumbling landscapes appear to drift toward us. Phantasmagoric panoramas vibrate with radiant hues and viscous, tactile brushwork. Flora works with encaustic wax on canvas in a style she has dubbed "Cosmogéologie," building up layer after layer of lucid color. This style forces viewers to allow the painting to wash over their senses, giving way to the disguised imagery within.
