A complex labyrinth of interlocking shapes come together to harmonize into beautiful images of figures, cityscapes, plants, and animals. Harmony is, in fact, a large stylistic component in the work of Egyptian-born artist Chritch. A lively pictorial rhythm is established and our eyes flow around the canvas, pushed and pulled by flowing line work and bold hues juxtaposed with muted tones. Fracturing the picture plane into tiny cubist fragments allows for multiple readings and viewpoints to come into play while media like acrylic, collage, and sand provide a great deal of textural nuance. Chritch’s paintings are a celebration of life, of nature, and of discovering the spiritual essence that resides within each of us. "My work is an invitation to uncover the mask of appearances and to decode the complexity of the human soul," she explains.
Chritch has participated in group and solo exhibitions around the globe, including in Cairo, Paris, Giverny, Montreal, Toronto, and New York. An international artist at heart, Chritch presently lives and works in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
