Press Release
Veronica Leiton’s artwork cannot be appreciated with quick glances. Her passion doesn’t jump out from the canvas nor does it share a direct point of view. Her work is presented with a foggy haze that lures the viewer to come closer and look carefully. The life beneath the surface of the painting gives Leiton a style of microscopic complexity. The color spectrum for her work stays mainly within the bluish and grey hues, which have been mainly influenced by the sea. This watery cloud adds mystery to her paintings. The colors create a swaying sensation on the canvas revealing a serene vision, only to be disrupted by the activity going on in the background. Various materials and textures go into making her fantasy worlds. She works with media on canvas, oil, paper, and collograph printing, which are only a few. Her use of different mediums adds to her style of unpredictability. She does not speak her expression; she allows it to emote off the canvas and gently creep into your consciousness.
